St Francis Xavier’s College is celebrating yet another successful GCSE results day.
Following record breaking A Level results last week, students from Year 11 kept up the good work and came out top in their GCSEs achieving 63% higher grade passes. Nine students obtained straight A*/A passes. The school’s exam results build on the success of last year’s GCSE cohort with a 4% uplift against a backdrop of a more rigorous national examination system.
The majority of students will continue to study at SFX College’s excellent sixth form, whilst others will go on to a number of alternative training and employment endeavours including apprenticeships in construction, engineering and sport.
Special mention goes to students David Comerford (9 A* and 3 A grades), Patrick Rainford (9A* and 2 A grades), James Daniels (7A* and 3 A grades) and Meronan Camillus (6A* and 4 A grades).
Mr Rippon, says: “What a week it has been for St Francis Xavier’s College!’
“The GCSE results today are testament to the hard work of our Year 11 students, and the dedication of both our fantastic teachers and parents in supporting the boys and ensuring that they reach their full potential.
“I’d like to wish those students leaving us for pastures new the very best of luck and for those who will be progressing into sixth form at SFX College, here’s to the next two years and to your continuing success!”
