Year 7 Intervention Groups 2016-17

Literacy Intervention 2016-17

There are sixty seven pupils in year 7 who are recorded as not meeting the expected level in reading at the end of key stage 2. It is proposed that the cohort is supported in three waves. The waves relate to the level of intervention needed.

Wave 1: This group will take part in the “Dockside” programme delivered during a weekly session by either a teaching assistant, SENCo or Assistant SENCo.

Wave 2: The “Dockside” programme (higher stages) will be used on 1:1 basis once per week.

Wave 3: Lunchtime reading club twice a week. This may also be open to those involved in wave 1

In addition to this Lexia will be used in some lessons and individual progress monitored. Some pupils will also access an additional lesson each week in literacy/numeracy.

Progress to be measured by reading tests/spelling tests each half term
