The policy of the Governing Body as to The School’s Secular Curriculum:

A full statement of the Governing Body’s policy may be inspected in school by Parents at their request.

The Governing Body wishes the curriculum followed in the school to conform with the requirements of the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 and subsequent regulations and Acts of Parliament and, in respect of pupils with learning difficulties, with its policy on provision for Additional Educational Needs.

The Governing Body wishes the school to offer a curriculum which is appropriate for all its pupils and which, where it is reasonably practicable, takes account of the expressed views of parents. The curriculum must have regard to the need to prepare boys and girls for the world of work or higher education.

Any complaint by a parent concerning a curriculum matter about which a parent can legitimately make complaint should, in the first instance, be made to the headmaster. If the complaint cannot be resolved, the headmaster must refer the matter to the Governing Body, or, if urgent action is required, to the Chairman of Governors. If the matter can still not be resolved, the Chairman of Governors must apprise the parent of his / her right to complain to the Secretary of State under section 496 of the Education Act 1996.
