 St Francis Xavier’s College (SFX) students have collected their GCSE results today (Thursday 23 August).

The Woolton-based college opened its doors this morning to expectant students who were eager to receive their grades. Pupils have performed well especially given the changing examinations system at 16 plus.

Most students will continue to study at SFX College’s sixth form, whilst others will go on to alternative career and educational paths.

Luke Norris, Jacob Raju, and Youngoh Lee amassed 25 grade 9s out of their 30 subjects which is a tremendous achievement whilst Oscar Lee also saw his hard work rewarded with grade 9 in three subjects Biology, Maths and Physics. All of the boys are continuing their education studies at A Level. Luke is going on to study Maths, Chemistry and Biology with the intention of becoming a micro biologist meanwhile Jacob is planning to study Biology, Chemistry and English.

Pupils studying vocational qualifications enjoyed similar success with a 100% per cent pass rate at Level 2 for Sport with Peter Ledson and Lucas Murphy both gaining Distinction grades.

Executive headteacher Les Rippon, said:   “We’re delighted with the results this year. The students have worked incredibly hard to get to this stage and they should be very proud of themselves.


“We would like to wish good luck to those who are leaving for pastures new and the students who are progressing into sixth form, we look forward to welcoming you back in September.”
