Pupils and staff are celebrating another year of achievement as students pick up their GCSE results today.

Overall Progress Measures for the College show an increase of 6% from 2015 with similar levels of improvement in Maths and English.

Special mention goes to a group of 7 pupils – James Davies, Tom Gornell, Nicholas Guest, David Ledson, Zac Mullins, Ethan Wishart and James Yeoman who together amassed 60 A* and A grades.  Zac was the top scorer with an impressive 7A* grades.

Many pupils will be returning in September to the school’s sixth form academy, while others will be going onto alternative training and work options.

Head teacher, Les Rippon, says: “I am delighted to be able to congratulate pupils on yet another year of GCSE success today. The results are testament to the hard work and dedication of pupils over the last two years, as well as the commitment of our wonderful teachers who ensure that each student reaches his potential.

“To achieve another set of impressive results is fantastic news for the school and I am extremely proud of the students’ achievements.

“I wish all of our students the best of luck for the future, whether they are coming back to the school in September to begin A Level study with us, or are embarking on new training and work options.”
